The Sock Drawer Podcast

“For anyone navigating life’s messy middle one honest step at a time.”

Welcome to The Sock Drawer Podcast  - a space for real conversations about the moments we don’t always talk about but every one of us goes through. Each week, we explore the seasons that crack us open, wake us up, or quietly nudge us toward whatever’s next.

This is where the messy middle meets meaning.

It’s a place where people share the pivots they never expected, the losses that changed their direction, the risks that reshaped them, and the small sparks that helped them keep going.

Through heartfelt stories, grounded insights, and conversations that feel like sitting with a friend, we explore:

• What shapes us

• What strengthens us

• What calls us forward

• And what we’re meant to carry into the next part of our story

Join us as we clear out the emotional and mental clutter and make room for clarity, connection, and the courage to take your next right step.

ABOUT OUR HOST

Meet Lisa Begley – Host, Author & Founder of The Sock Drawer

Hi, I’m Lisa Begley - Host of The Sock Drawer Podcast and the creator of the D-R-A-W-E-R™ Method, a simple framework that helps people sort through the messy, in-between seasons of life with more clarity and a lot more grace. I’m not a therapist, I’m the Messiness Mentor, offering a safe, judgment-free space to talk through what you’re carrying and find your next honest step forward.

Over the last 45 years, I’ve lived a deeply textured life, 29 different roles, 30 moves, 6 states, and even a brief chapter of my childhood in the Philippines. I’ve been a COO, a business owner, an international flight attendant, a health advisor, and a business consultant. I’ve built companies, closed businesses with half a million dollars of debt, survived trauma and a nervous breakdown, and rebuilt my life again and again. Through it all, I’ve learned this: your story isn’t over, it’s just getting good.

I’m also the author of The Sock Drawer Philosophy, a self-discovery guide about letting go, moving on, and finding meaning in the moments that didn’t go as planned. The book came first, long before the podcast, and it still shapes the heart behind the conversations I share here.

These days, I’m happily remarried to my first husband, Trent, and together we’re “Grammy and Popie” to six (plus two bonus) grandchildren. I show up every week because I believe in honest stories, second chances, and helping people feel seen in the messy middle.

Did You Know This About

Lisa Begley?

• She leads with God, family, friends, and helping others, the four things that anchor every season of her life.

• She believes every sock drawer tells a story, and yes, hers is always a little messy.

• She’s obsessed with rearranging rooms until the energy “feels right.”

• Coffee in the morning and Doxie snuggles (IYKYK) at night are her two non-negotiables.

• Her happiest moments are when she’s surrounded by her grandkids, all eight of them.

• She keeps handwritten notes everywhere (including on the back of receipts).

• She still believes the bravest people aren’t the loud ones they’re the ones who quietly keep going.

THE SOCK DRAWER PHILOSOPHY

A Self-Discovery Guide to Letting Go, Moving On, and Finding Meaning

Life gets messy, not because you’ve failed, but because you’re human. The Sock Drawer Philosophy is a book for anyone standing in the middle of a transition, trying to make sense of what to keep, what to release, and what might still be possible. Inside, readers will find:

• Real stories that make them feel less alone

• Simple, grounding reflections

• Practical ways to lighten what they’re carrying

• Small, doable steps toward clarity and meaning

This isn’t a book about perfection.

It’s a book about being brave enough to sort through life one piece at a time and discovering hope hidden in the mess.
